Funding Assistance resources are available if you require financial assistance.
PFPC participates with the DC Abortion Fund (DCAF), the Baltimore Abortion Fund (BAF) and the National Abortion Federation (NAF) funding assistance programs. These programs are designed to assist patients with no insurance or other means to pay for their care with supplemental financial support. All of the assistance programs are phone-operated and you must call directly to the service. DCAF, BAF and NAF have our information and will send your pledge directly to PFPC. Patients may receive assistance from more than one funding program. Other funding programs exist and your case manager may refer you to additional funding services which are accepted on a case-by-case basis. Call us in advance if you are receiving other funding so we can ensure it is accepted.
Once you have called funding programs and received pledges we keep them on file for a month, in case you need to reschedule. If you come into the office and the pledges need to be updated we can usually make the changes quickly.
Calling a funding program:
Call DCAF at 202-452-7464. This is an answering machine service so patients should be prepared to leave a message with their name, call back number, and appointment information. After leaving the message a DCAF operator will be in touch, usually within a day, to discuss financial assistance options. DCAF provides service in English and Spanish.
Call BAF at 443-297-9893. BAF serves a more targeted area. Look at the list of counties served on their website to see if you are in a covered area before calling. This is also an answering machine service so patients should be prepared to leave a message with their name, call back number, and appointment information. After leaving the message a BAF operator will be in touch to discuss financial assistance options. BAF provides service in English and Spanish.
Call NAF at 1-800-772-9100 between 7am and 11pm on weekdays and between 9am and 9pm on weekends. NAF receives a high volume of calls so you may need to call a few times before getting through to an operator. To get through faster, try calling in the evenings after 5pm or on weekends. When the call goes through, an operator will discuss financial assistance options with you. NAF provides service in English and Spanish.
